The 12 Best Paranormal Sightings Of 2012
By January, many were already reporting reporting that 2012 was going to be a big year for UFO sightings. But 2012 wasn't just a big year for flying saucer sightings -- it was a big year for the paranormal in general.

Some of the sightings youll see below are included for their credibility (relatively-speaking), and others are just really, really fun.

SAVA SAVANOVIC, THE SERBIAN VAMPIRE

In November, ABC News reported that Serbias most famous vampire, Sava Savanovic (pictured in this rare sepia photograph), was on the loose in Zarozje village, allegedly in the market for new real estate after the collapse of his former residence. "I understand that people who live elsewhere in Serbia are laughing at our fears, but here most people have no doubt that vampires exist," said a local municipal assembly member. A strong belief and interest in vampires is a major force in heavily forested, mountainous regions like those of Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Croatia, according to Dr. James Lyon, a Balkan historian. "Not," he notes, "[as] potential boyfriends."

ALIEN PRE-CRABS ON OAHU

The sandy shores of the Hawaiian island of Oahu were covered this summer by "millions" (at least according to beachgoer Scott Paddock, though how do you really estimate that on sight?) of tiny, purple, moving dot creatures -- tiny purple dots that were scaring sand crabs millions of times their size. The creatures stumped local biologists, which means theyre from space. But probably they are larval crabs.

THE BALTIC SEA MILLENIUM FALCON

The Baltic Sea "UFO" first made headlines in the summer of 2011, but interest in the object resurfaced this summer, when the group of divers investigating the formation (or aircraft), the Ocean X Team, reported that the object was giving off "electrical interference" that broke all the devices they could have used to prove that it was totally Corellia-based in origin. Turns out, it was just a bunch of dumb sea rocks.
