6 Mysteries Of The World That Will Keep You Awake At Night
THE LOCH NESS MONSTER
The Loch Ness Monster lives in Scotland. It has been referred to by various accounts as a horse, a dog, or a sea serpent. There has been much speculation about its existence, which hasn't been helped by the overabundance of hoaxes that have sprung up around it. At one point, there was an exploration into the waters to see if a great sea serpent may be living in the waters - but without any conclusive findings. Still, if it can shape shift and is as mysterious as people claim it be, who knows what it is or isn't possible of accomplishing? Hopefully Nessie is just waiting around underwater for her perfect opportunity to unveil herself to the world, but until then, we will have to wait and see what magic lives underneath the Loch. Popular culture has taken advantage of Nessie's story and have created very different depictions of her, ranging from a terrifying, man hungry beast to a lovely, cute, kid-friendly dinosaur that befriends a local family. Honestly, the more amiable Nessie would probably be better for the world to handle, but a vicious monster may be an interesting find as well.
MOTHMAN
Mothman is a beast that originated in the state of West Virginia. He is said to have a very large range of travel, including Pennsylvania. The lore says that the Mothman is a terrifying creature that will try and harm humans when given a chance. However, there was a movie made about him that depicted the Mothman as a misunderstood clairvoyant who is only trying to help humanity avoid calamity. Like other cryptids, the Mothman has yet to be definitely proven to exist, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he is not real.
DYATLOV PASS INCIDENT 1959
The Dyatlov Pass Incident of 1959 is one of the freakiest events in recorded history. During this incident, researchers from Ural Polytechnical Institue (no renamed the Ural Federal University) took a hike through what is now called the Dyatlov Pass, so named after the leader of the group. The mystery is that they all died from very suspicious causes. When a rescue party went to find them, they saw that their tent had been ripped open from the inside, and the people had gone on to run away in only their socks. They were all found dead, with no visible sign of what had killed them. But the fishiest part of the whole experience was the fact that there was a recording of high radiation levels in the area around where the campers were staying, and one eye witness has reported that, of the five funerals he attended, all the victims had what looked like a deep brown tan on their skin. Reports from another group of hikers mentioned that they saw orange lights in the sky above where the Dyatlov party had stationed on what is presumed to be the night of their death. This has led to a great many theories about what happened to the party. The official story is a variation on the idea of an avalanche having suddenly driven them all from their tents, but the more supernaturally inclined have concocted theories ranging from nuclear weapons testing to alien abduction. There were no survivors, so we will likely never know the actual truth of the Dyatlov Pass Incident.
THE VOYNICH MANUSCRIPT
The Voynich Manuscript is a manuscript from the Middle Ages that is written in a language never seen anywhere else, using an alphabet that has also never been seen anywhere else. There are many intriguing, odd diagrams in the book. Some believe that it is a code used by an alchemist to disguise his work and keep it safe from the prying eyes of his competitor. However, when it comes to the occult, one can never be too sure...
THE DISAPPEARANCE OF FREDERICK VALENTICH
Flying along on a perfect day, with no recorded weather disturbances and almost unlimited visibility, Frederick Valentich disappeared forever. He was talking on the radio when his transmission was abruptly cut off, mentioning things such as the fact that he could see green lights floating above him, which he identified as not being an aircraft. The picture above was taken the same day that Frederick disappeared. That dark blob floating above the world has never been explained - could that be where Frederick went?
STONEHENGE
Stonehenge remains one of the most iconic mysteries of the world. It is know that the structure was built sometime between 3000 and 2000 BC. But what the world has yet to uncover is why Stonehenge was built. What was the specific purpose of this structure in the first place? Some people believe that it has a special significance in an old cultish religion. But, maybe even more than wondering why was it built, it is more intriguing to know how it was built. These stones are gigantic and incredibly heavy. Presumably, these were all made in a time before there was building technology available. How were humans able to lug these stones around and build them up into their present location? People have, of course, suggested aliens. But maybe we can hope that it is a testament to the skill and determination of a bunch of hard working human beings.
