Japan's defense minister recently announced that UFOs from space have never entered the country's airspace.
On Wednesday, April 1, Defense Minister Gen Nakatani fielded questions about threats from space. The "Japan Times" reports that these questions came from "flamboyant wrestler-turned-lawmaker Antonio Inoki" at a Upper House Budget Committee meeting. Inoki asked if the military dispatches jets to intercept extraterrestrial craft.

"When the Air Self Defense Force detects indications of an unidentified flying object that could violate our country's airspace, it scrambles fighter jets if necessary and makes visual observation," Nakatani explains. He continues, "They sometimes find birds or flying objects other than aircraft but I don't know of a case of finding an unidentified flying object believed to have come over from anywhere other than Earth."
Many disagree with this assessment, based on the many UFO sightings reported in the country. One person who disagrees is Miyuki Hatoyama, the wife of former Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama. "While my body was sleeping, I think my spirit flew on a triangular-shaped UFO to Venus," she wrote in the 2008 book "Most Bizarre Things I've Encountered".

Back in 2007, Parliament member Ryuji Yamane stated, "I believe that it is an urgent task to collect information and confirm (the existence of UFOs) from the viewpoint of our nation's security and the public's interest and anxiety amid endless eyewitness reports."
In late 2007, former defense minister Shigeru Ishiba said, "There are no grounds for us to deny there are unidentified flying objects and some life-form that control them. Few discussions have been held on what the legal grounds are" for a military response.
But, according to current defense minister Nakatani, the issue of a military response to extraterrestrial UFOs hasn't presented itself yet.

In an interesting UFO sighting out of Tucson, two KGUN 9 employees spotted something they couldn't explain. With the lack of UFO reports here lately, I was sure Tucson was being neglected.
Perhaps we are and what the employees captured is merely something explainable. Although not necessarily a spaceship, it was something that the television employees couldn't identify. So, it is a UFO until identified.
I was hoping that perhaps meteorologist Erin Christiansen might have weighed in on this, as a possible weather anomaly.
It should be noted that Tucson is home to the University of Arizona, where an experiment could have originated. Perhaps a professor or researcher from there might help KGUN to identify it.
Tucson is also home to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. There are lots of possible explanations. Take a look at it and weigh in on it here or at the KGUN website.

We were traveling west on Southeastern Ave from 465. We had just stopped at a stop light at arlington and southeastern,I was admiring the skyline as the sun was going down on what turned out to be a beautiful day and I saw 5 red/orange objects hovering very close to one another off to the southwest.At first I thought it was the trailings of an airliner or jet. As we drove closer to Raymond St. the objects got closer to one another and then they dispersed. At this time, my husband saw 2 of them headed for each other and they passed each other. One of them disappeared and the other seemed to hover right where it was for a couple of minutes.My husband and I did not quite know what to think of what we were seeing.We pointed at it while stopped at emerson and Raymond trying to get the motorists attention in the car next to us but he was either looking too or oblivious. We tried to pull over at Sherman and Raymond to get a glimpse of what we were seeing and the cluster of three disappeared but the other one became invisible right before our eyes. At this time there was a large air liner that seemed to be decending in its flight pattern that was circling the area and then it was out of sight as well. There was deffinately a huge difference between the airliner that we saw and the red/orange objects that appeared to be reflecting light that was actually on the other side of the objects as the sun was setting on the side of the objects that we could not see. There was no contrail that would have me believe that these were mearly airplanes or jets, and there was no noise as you would expect from a plane traveling through the area. We don't quite know what we saw, however it was deffinately un identified.
