Ufo Sightings Mufon Case Closed Low Flying Sphere Ufo Reacts To Illinois Witness Flashlight On May 25 2013
SEPTEMBER 23, 2013 - UNITED STATES - Multiple Illinois witnesses at Beach Park reported watching and videotaping a low flying sphere that apparently reacted to their flashlight, according to testimony in Case 47618 closed as an Unknown Aerial Vehicle, the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) announced September 19, 2013.
The reporting witness was visiting family in Beach Park when the object was first noticed about 10:15 p.m. on May 25, 2013.
The witnesses were in Beach Park, IL, when the low flying sphere UFO moved overhead on May 25, 2013.

"The object was moving and then started to hover and then drifted back over," the witness stated. "It started to change colors, dip down, fly up and all over. At this point knew I was seeing something extraordinary and started shouting for everyone to go look outside."
Other family came outside to witness the light in the sky that seemed to dip low over one particular area.
"It was amazing and flew in such a fluid way. I've never seen anything like it. It definitely seemed to have an interest in a certain little area as it would keep dipping down. That seemed to be a common theme."
The witness ran inside and retrieved a flashlight and began shining it at the object.
"Started to shine the light at it in a Morse Code fashion and right away it took notice and flew towards us, almost like a curious bee. At this point my heart was pounding a bit because I did not know what was going to happen, but this was awesome. After a while it lost interest and went back to bumbling around over its area."
A family member convinced the witness to chase the object in a car, but nothing was found.
"So all in all this thing was changing color at some points and at others it would be three or four spheres of color. It was hovering, going up, down, dipping, fast, slow. It was very amazing to watch fly. It just seemed to fly perfectly and flawless. And I definitely had the impression it was up to something as it mostly stayed in a defined area and would constantly descend. The film was shot on a Canon Powershot a720."
The witness provided two pieces of video: Video 1 and Video 2. Beach Park is a village in Lake County, IL, population 13,638.
Illinois MUFON case investigator was James Wolford.
"The objects observed move too rapidly at times to be drifting in the wind as a Chinese sky lantern would do," Wolford stated. "Also a very large number of different types of movements were involved. The witnesses also had the impression that these motions were deliberate and intelligently controlled. Because the wind was less than 5 mph, we can assume that powered flight was involved based on observed motions. Permission to operate radio-controlled drones in this part of Illinois has not yet been granted by local authorities such as those at Waukegan Regional Airport which is very close to the sighting area."
Case 47618 is one of 77 May 2013 cases now closed by MUFON investigators as an Unknown. Illinois is a current UFO ALERT 3 rating, with a high number of UFO sightings nationally. Illinois had 25 reports in August 2013 - the 9th highest reporting state while California had 97 reports - the highest reporting state in the nation.
