OLD MAN HAYES
This is a true story. When I was about twelve or so my family moved into a rural neighborhood called Hayes Glenn. It was some old farm land owned by a man named Mr. Hayes. We built a new home on five acres and moved in the winter of 1986. About a year or so later another house was being built next door to us. Being kids me and a good friend would hang out in the house while it was being built. One day we were just sitting in the unfinished house talking when we both heard foot steps coming down the hall right toward us. They were very loud because there was no carpet on the concrete foundation so they could clearly be heard. I looked down the hall and there was no one there. Thinking the owners were there we ran out of the house but I soon realized there was no body there.
A couple of weeks later I awoke up about two in the morning. My room was on the side of our house that overlooked the property that the house was being built on. I don't know why but I looked out of the window and clearly saw an old man standing outside of the house. I could see him in the moonlight. I went and woke my mom up but when she got to my room he was gone. Nothing else happened. The house was finished and a couple of years passed. I happened to be talking to a friend's dad who lived in the area. He was a police officer who, about 10 years before all of this, handled the case of old man Hayes...the farmer who had hung himself in a barn exactly were the neighbors house was built. JJ

About two years ago, I had an experience which I will recount to you. I have been speaking of this more, but it took some time to reconcile.
I believe it would have been early March. I am an interiorscaper, which means I take care of plants in offices and estates. At the time, I had the contract to maintain the plant material in the executive offices at Electronic Data Systems in Plano, TX. Because I maintained the plants for the highest level employees (ceo, cio, etc..), I would do my work pretty much in the middle of the night by escort of their security personnel. I had the contract to do this work for them since 1998.
Once a week, I would leave my home, where I live in a country setting, and travel about 45 minutes in to Plano to do this work. On this morning, it was about 2:30am. I had loaded my van with my work materials, and started out on a very cold and unpleasant morning. It had been raining and the wind was blowing. I had my windshield wipers on because the wind was blowing water off the trees, though it wasn't raining at the moment. I turned on the residential street to make my way out and to the main roads. As I approached the first stop sign, my headlights illuminated a being.
This is how I describe it: First, I must comment that I was immediately struck by a terrible fear. I believe my neck hairs stood on end, and I realized later that I had popped out in a complete sweat. I never sweat, and it was very cold, but my shirt had huge armpit rings by the time I reached the toll road. So I instantly knew that I was seeing something very out of the ordinary at the first second.
I would say this being was about five feet tall. It crossed the road on the cross street in front of me. I had probably 10 or so seconds as my van approached the stop sign, and I had my foot on the brake pedal already when I saw it. (I was traveling slowly anyway). It was a glossy white color, and I could not discern any clothing. It was the same glossy white from its head to its feet. It did not turn its head to look at me, so I do not know what the eyes looked like. It moved in a very strange fashion. It did not seem to have any bend at a knee area, and shuffled rather than walked. The arms were very long, much longer than a person's, and they hung down much past where one would expect knees, and also had no bend where one would expect elbows. I believe the hands were large. The head was not very big, nothing like one sees looking up pictures of 'greys'. There was nothing threatening in its manner, but I was terrified, nonetheless. I must say it took every ounce of courage for me to turn my head to the left in the direction it had gone when I came to a stop at the stop sign. I saw nothing there, and I floored it and got the hell out of there.
Nothing strange or unusual happened on the rest of the trip, although I was really scared. And nothing has happened in all the time since then. I wish I had known that there would be no consequences from seeing it and I could have saved myself a lot of anxiety. I would love to see it again, if I could know for sure that again there would be no consequences, and I could look at it from behind an army of people who probably believe me to be deluded or a liar.
Obviously, I have no idea what it is. Except to say that I know it is not human. I guess it could be an alien from space, or a creature from another dimension.
Seeing it had a big effect on me. I have never been in the least bit afraid outside in the night (I breed and raise horses, and I have spent many, many nights out in the barn by myself waiting for a mare to foal) but I was very nervous outside after that. I also began to dread going to that account. It was eons before I could go by that stop sign without feeling that fear.
I have had some unusual experiences in my life, but nothing like this. I do not know what to make of this experience, other than to acknowledge that there is much more to this world than we know. I come from a well-educated family of engineers and economists, and they would have preferred no family member of theirs have an experience like this, which puts on in a category of 'kooks'. Kate

Mothman is a beast that originated in the state of West Virginia. He is said to have a very large range of travel, including Pennsylvania. The lore says that the Mothman is a terrifying creature that will try and harm humans when given a chance. However, there was a movie made about him that depicted the Mothman as a misunderstood clairvoyant who is only trying to help humanity avoid calamity. Like other cryptids, the Mothman has yet to be definitely proven to exist, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he is not real.

(3/21/2007) - While browsing the web today I stumbled across Paraex, a ghost investigation team in Central Ohio. The Field Investigator candidate requirements reminded me of why I founded NKYPYG:
To qualify, all candidates:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
NKYPYG was born after I located the closest ghost investigation group to Covington, KY - a group located in Xenia, OH (which doesn't appear to be around anymore, btw) - and their investigator requirements required you to be at least 18. Shortly after that I took the MUFON Field Investigator Test and learned that although I could turn it in, they would hold it until I was 18. I was classified as an "Associate Member" and I could be nothing more since I was under 18.
Of the few things bridging the gap between UFO and ghost organizations, this annoying restriction appears to be one of them. For legal purposes, it's perfectly understandable that a non-profit would not want field investigators - who could get injured - to be under the age of 18. However, in the field of the paranormal - a field looked down upon by many mainstream scientists - there are many reasons why we should be including youth in our investigations.
First and foremost, the youth are our future. You hear this touted in many places and fields, but it is of the utmost importance in Ufology. There have been essays by the "old guard" (see Friedman's "Perceptions" column in the June 2003 MUFON UFO Journal, to which I have previously written a response to) where they acknowledge the need to get youth more involved, to take the place of past Ufologists who are passing away more and more each decade (see UFO group membership numbers, 1960's vs. 1990's). But their recommendations on how to get the youth involved in these organizations is simply too out of touch with today's generation. Example in point: Friedman's article suggested that youth could get involved in MUFON by going to their local libraries and searching through newspaper microfilm for past UFO reports. Trust me, while this is an important step in investigating historical UFO sightings, you're not going to get the youth to care about UFO's this way. Simply put, top UFO organizations will die out (as they have been doing for years) if they do not appeal to generation after generation.
Today's youth are hands-on. While there are still a select few who benefit from lectures, the vast majority prefer getting out there and doing what they're learning. This presents a unique opportunity to paranormal groups because today's field technology is substantially cheaper than it was in previous years. For under 100, a team of three could easily be outfitted with enough equipment to perform a good, standard preliminary investigation of a site and report back to headquarters about whether or not the site warrants further investigation. In Ufology, the same could be said about interviewing witnesses rather than investigating a site. When it comes down to it, there simply aren't enough good investigators out there. See last month's MUFON CMS Ranking Report, for example, in which 16 states weren't even able to assign cases to investigators - two of those states being Ohio and Kentucky - simply because there aren't enough available investigators to tackle them. It is ridiculous that MUFON would deny the under 18 crowd (the upper age bracket of which can drive cars, btw) the right to investigate these cases simply because of their age.
In other scientific fields youth are encouraged to participate, not only in lectures and classrooms but by getting in the laboratory and conducting experiments. Even in the field of parapsychology, I was able to carry out a round of d'ej`a vu experiments being put on by Cornell University while in a psychology class my junior year of high school. There are also summer camps as early as elementary and middle school where participants get to use the same equipment as professionals in locations where they might also get injured (I can recall my Astronomy class during Duke TIP at KU traveling with telescopes to a private field outside of Lawrence, KS and spending much of the night there: a scenario similar to any UFO field investigation). It appears that "real scientists" have solved the problem of how to let minors get involved: it's called a waiver. We used to use these for my NKYPYG group. You simply have the students' parent or guardian sign that it's ok for their son or daughter to participate in your organization, including field work. Add some legal "fine print" that prevents them from suing your organization and you're free to allow the students to participate.
So now that the legal barriers are aside, what else could youth offer to a paranormal investigation? Seeing as how much EVP research involves audio at strange frequencies, youth could be helpful in identifying the source of a noise that appears to only play back on audio tape to adults. It is simple science that the younger you are, the greater your range of audible frequencies. Just think about the new "mosquito" ring tones and The Mosquito, a device that attempts to keep youth from loitering in a location by playing an annoying sound at a frequency that only they can hear. In addition to better hearing, youth also tend to have better eyesight, which can be very helpful if an anomaly manifests at a distance during an investigation.
The greatest asset that youth have to offer such investigations are fewer investigator biases. As paranormal investigators age, they carry with them beliefs and values that can affect their research. Youth are still forming these beliefs and values which make it less likely that they will apply them to their research. As I was quoted as saying in a recent newspaper article, "Young people can see things with new eyes... They can keep an open mind to things that adults may explain away."
Ultimately, it will be the youth who carry on your organization. With popular shows like Sci-Fi's "Ghost Hunters" capturing youth's attention and teaching them incorrect investigation methods and techniques (which could be as much Sci-Fi's fault as TAPS's), it will be up to paranormal organizations to re-train them at the age of 18 or 21, and we all know that it's easier to learn the right way the first time than it is to change your way of thinking later on in life. Why not properly train youth as soon as they are interested in being a field investigator, and why not tap that already readily available resource to increase your case assignment and completion ratios? Even if your group only allows youth to investigate a case under the direction of an adult field investigator, that's a step in the right direction for the paranormal field. To be respected by "established" scientists, our best bet is to let tomorrow's scientists know just how professional our investigative standards are.

For those interested in psychokinesis from a parapsychology perspective, I found "the" book on the topic. It is:
Heath, Pamela Rae. (2003). "The PK Zone: A cross-cultural review of psychokinesis". Lincoln: iUniverse.
This book is essentially an extensive review of our knowledge about PK, and it can be easily considered as a reference manual. The bibliography is almost 20 pages long. It is not a book to be read like a novel, however, as it is divided in analytical sections, and sub-sections. The first part of the book is a quick review of past approaches to PK-like phenomena (such as in 19th century psychical research), and religious-based understanding of PK (like the levitation of the saints). The second part presents a review of scientific research and theories (and the more scientific portion of psychical research is included in this section). The last part and the most extensive one is about the experiential portion of PK, i.e. how PK relates to altered states of consciousness, dissociation, trust, inhibitors, etc. In the conclusion, the author presents briefly a psychological model linking 14 experiential elements of the PK experience (pp. 355-357). Graphically, it looks like a "spaghetti" org. chart, and it is not meant to be user-friendly. This book is obviously the outcome of a colossal amount of work, but it is not for those who are seeking "the" answer to PK. It is rather an honest look at the multiple incomplete and imperfect answers that are out there.
It is interesting to note that the author, by focussing on the experiential part of PK, is taking a qualitative (or phenomenological) perspective on the phenomenon. The author offers not only the main findings on various aspects of PK by citing the relevant literature, but she proposes many quotes from people involved in PK experience, or who had spontaneous experiences, to support her claims. This is refreshing to see a parapsychologist able to beyond dry statistical analysis attempting to determine whether it is within or outside chance deviations. From that point of view, this book offers a readily usable analytical guide for the qualitative material (i.e., witness accounts) of the UFO experience (assuming it is indeed a PK-related phenomenon).
PK AND PARASOCIOLOGY
From a parasociology perspective, however, it is more challenging to use this book as a reference, as the proposed experiential approach is essentially one based on the individual, its key unit of analysis (i.e., a psychology-based approach). A fair bit of careful "translation" between ontological levels (i.e., between the individual level and the social level) will be required to make her findings useful to parasociology.
For instance, "focused awareness" or attention (pp. 283-290) is found to be an important enabler to intentional PK. As well, on p. 287 she notes that focused awareness can occur at the group level (to be understood here as a small group) where people are focussing on the same thing. This can increase the power of PK. Although the author does not expand on it in that chapter, there is an implicit idea that the intensity of a psi effect has a direct correlation with the number of human psyche involved. In other words, psi energy appears cumulative. UFO sightings and UFO waves can rarely be understood as intentional PK (with a few exceptions such as Vi'eroudy's experiments presented in an earlier post). Hence, this part of the findings may not be relevant. However, it is also possible to make the argument that once a UFO is seen the focussed attention of the witnesses can possibly have an impact on the changing shape and behaviour of the UFO (a common observation in UFO sightings). But we are still staying at the individual level in this case. On the other hand, the idea that an increased number of people involved in a PK phenomenon (whether they are focussed or not) seems to lead to greater PK effects is an interesting argument in favour of social psi; if thousands (or more) people unconsciously produce PK effects, then the effect should be much more ostentatious, taking shapes like UFO waves, or repeated Marian apparitions. This is certainly one of the key assumptions behind the Global Consciousness Project. Yet again, this issue of focused attention could explain why during a same UFO wave there can be conflicting observations by the different witnesses (which situation often leads ETH ufologists to dismiss the observations that do not fit their preconceived notions, and to declare as "more real" or "better" the ones that fit "the pattern" - from that point of view, the criticism towards ETH ufology as being nothing more than "saucerology" is deserved).
From a methodological standpoint, because accounts of UFOs during a UFO wave are usually coming from individual people, it is still important to take into consideration the individual level portion of the phenomenon. To find social dynamics that would be particular to social psi, however, it is fundamental to maintain a clear analytical distinction between the two ontological levels. Hence, borrowing from Heath's book will be a delicate balancing act.
As one can see, there is lots of food for thought in this book. I think it would be useful to go in depth through each of the elements of this book, in an attempt to "extract" the findings that could have a sociological level application (i.e., to inform parasociology). This will constitute the bulk of my next posts.

This seems very complicated, so let's just plough into it and see if any sense can be made.First, a little note as to how the idea to look into the case[s] even arose recently.The Center for UFO Studies had a communication from an old colleague, Greg Long, who had written a very good review book on the Yakima, WA "UFO" phenomenon [which is largely but not wholly BOL experiences]. The business is fascinating to say the least, and a good read.Greg wanted to congratulate me and the UFO History Group on "UFOs and Government", and to float the idea that one thing that he has always wanted to do was to write a general review book on the BOL phenomenon worldwide. [A huge task]. He said that our book "pushed him over the edge" in his resolve. And, I, for one, can't wait to see what he does with the topic, as, to me, the Balls-of-Light are the area in UFOlogy most easily seen as "natural physical phenomena" OR part of the UFO phenomenon OR some ancient nature-spirit phenomenon OR even in the "ghost" category. Other aspects of UFOlogy seem to drift much more strongly towards one hypothesis or another. BOLs seem to resist that.In order to kickstart his research, he was data-gathering and had focussed on three cases that he wanted some file material on. Wanaque was one of them. The UFO world is a big place and you can't read it all. All of us are going to be ignorant, even on famous pieces of it now and then.But I wanted to be at least a little helpful, so I began looking for resources..... and got stuck in this thing. This is REALLY complicated, and generally poorly investigated [at least as far as the resources available to me would indicate]. But it definitely "has a story". So, admitting that we're playing with a deck missing several cards, what can be said?A: WHAT DID "THE PAPERS" SAY?When you dive into Wanaque, you find that you're not dealing with one "UFO" case but many. For purposes of sanity, it's convenient [though mildly inaccurate] to consider the Wanaque cases to be mainly composed of two clusters of incidents in 1966, one in mid-January and the other almost exactly nine months later in October. In this first swipe at the phenomenon, I'm going to look only at the January incidents.The second thing that strikes you [very favorably] is that the January cluster has a boatload of witnesses, lots of whom are "in plain sight", and many of whom are policemen. So... good start.The third thing is that no REALLY good investigation seems to have been made. Because of that, I'm going to begin by saying what the newspapers got from the witnesses and put in their stories. The cast-of-characters above figures prominently in this, and several of them in the October events as well.The above is my guess at the January action. Take it with a grain of salt. Who knows?, it might even be correct. Secondly, my scanner took the day off on reproducing any intensity of red. So, what we're supposed to get from the map is a long [now light pink line] arcing north to south from Ringwood all the way out of the picture past Pompton Plains. That long arc may have been the first stage of the events of January 11th. Then, the thing returns on the orange line, hangs about the Raymond Dam on the Wanaque Reservoir, then the blue line indicates the third stage over the city and leaving again south. After a break of a few hours, and now early in the January 12th hours, the thing seems to show up over Wyckoff and take the heading indicated towards the Dam where it hangs about again. These pathways are what I can surmise from the newspaper clippings, plus a blow-by-blow article out of FATE Magazine, which although written by guys I don't automatically trust, does, in this case, seem to match the news reports pretty well.So, allegedly: something was seen in the north over Ringwood at about 6:20-6:30pm. It cruised southward passing over Wanaque city, including the high school, the dam, the mining pit south of town, the highway crossover point on Ringwood Avenue, and leaving to the southern horizon. This southern passage seems to have been a relatively slow, steady cruise, but one which caught people's, then police attention. There wasn't much to it otherwise: a slow-moving bright light, much brighter than a star.B. STAGE TWO: It seems to be on the trip back that everyone gets involved.By 6:45pm, the thing is seen coming back. Officer Joe Cisco spots it, then Officer Delano sees it hovering over the Raymond Dam [The Raymond Dam is directly under the point of the orange arrow on the map]. This is c.7pm. Delano radio's Officer Dyckman, who with two teenage boys, also sees the light. Generally this light is described as very bright, low in the sky, probably slowly dimming and brightening, but NOT rapid pulsing, slow-moving or hovering, silent, and possibly turning. Dyckman seems to have gotten much more excited about the thing than anyone else, being described as "visibly shaken". He also is one of the few who thinks the light is extremely blindingly bright, and who describes it as "discoidal" or oval.Fairly soon after this Officer Theodora also sees the light, and it seems to be he who wonders about a hole in the reservoir ice he sees. As the thing seems to be happy to hang around the reservoir awhile, even the Mayor and several councilmen go out to see it. The Mayor brings his 14-year-old son, who notices that the light is slowly changing hues from white to red to green to white again. Some of the observers get to watch occasional erratic whipping about, dipping, and approaching the water surface activities. On one of these dips, the object's light shone strong on the surface producing a circle about 9' in diameter. The observers judged, due to this view, that the object was quite small, in the 2-to-9 foot diameter range. Three reservoir engineers were at the top of the dam to observe, and made this estimate. One was reported in the newspapers as seeing a "beam" directed at the waters. This was typical bad newspaper rumor mill reporting, and the engineer did not say that.By 8pm to 8:30pm, the visitor apparently decided to leave.C. STAGE THREE: A cruise over the town and back south.The BOL began to move, again leisurely, sometime after 8pm, going north over the city and pausing over the Lakeland Regional High School. It then turned back south and seems to have paused over the Houdaille sand-mine pit in Haskell. It left southerly over Pompton Lakes and beyond. This southernly excursion had occurred after almost a full hour of wandering or hovering near the dam.People stayed out looking for a return, but by midnight nothing more happened. Then, at about 2am, the two officers named, oddly, Cisco [Joe] and Sisco [David] got word that the thing had been seen over Wyckoff to the East and was traveling towards the dam. It arrived at the dam at about 2:30am and was witnessed there by three officers: Sisco, Wardlaw, and Theodora. Theodora tried to get a picture but the print showed only a small fuzzy light. The event concluded at about 4:15am, when, it seems, the light just suddenly disappeared [although the reports could be a lot clearer on this for my taste].D. PEERING INTO THE AFTERMATH ZOO.Word got around quickly [this IS afterall very near the Ultimate Zoo, New York City], and by the 13th lots was happening, almost all unproductive. Cars of thrill-seekers were all over cramping up the roads and causing accidents [this went on for days]. TRUE Magazine allegedly sent a man down, though I have nothing on that element of this, unless he was the same guy who was writing for the New York Daily News. Sadly, UFO mischief-maker, Augie Roberts, was a nearby resident and he showed up to add to the confusion. [Roberts was one of that merry little band of screw-offs which included Gray Barker and Jim Moseley, who early on decided to make UFOlogy a personal playground with no regard for truth.] Roberts immediately began discoursing authoritatively about UFOs, claiming to have a picture of the Wanaque thing, and speculating that the government was testing antigravity technology over the reservoir. Yep, a true seeker.... of something. The USAF didn't do any better, immediately announcing that the witnesses had seen Venus and Jupiter.There were two alleged sightings just before midnight and at 4am on the morning of the 13th. The midnight sighting was by two guys who saw a similar bobbing reddish-tinged BOL of very bright light. The 4am sighting was of a very bright baseball-sized light which swooped in on the Water Treatment Plant, didn't like it as much as the reservoir, and took back off at high speed. The USAF shortly rumored the possibility of a helicopter with a bright strobe beam, but the local base commander went public with the news that the base didn't have any helicopters. This was replaced by some Air Force goon's opinion that the witnesses had been seeing one of the two Echo satellites. The stupidity of some of these people beggars the imagination. Over 1000 waited patiently in crammed cars for new sightings which didn't come.Luckier were two members of a swarm of CB Rangers who had come over to do 24/7 reconnaissance in the evening. None of them saw anything on night one, but on the next night, two guys claimed something completely different: a dark-colored "fat cigar-shaped object" about 30-40 feet long. It had amber-colored lights of fluorescent quality. They claimed that it was only 150 feet away. I have found no one who did anything with this case. The two also said that their radios malfunctioned when the thing was around. Meanwhile, Augie Roberts said that the object wouldn't remain in the area long
on what grounds is anyone's guess.On the 15th and 16th NICAP showed up in force. Committe members White and Pagano first, then Don Berliner leading a contingent from DC including even Gordon Lore [I wish it had been Ted Bloecher and Isabel Davis, maybe we'd have gotten a more comprehensive case file.] The locals were impressed, believing NICAP to be a quasi-official part of the federal government. Somewhat less impressive was the letter received by the Mayor from UFO/Paranormal nut, Ted Owens. Signing himself as "The Rainmaker", he stated that the Mayor should send him money so he and his family could come up from Philadelphia. At that time, he would use his powers to "call in" the UFO, because he knew just how to do that. The Mayor did not request funding from City Council.Nothing happened until the 19th, when a local engineer was confronted by a bright blue BOL which swooped down on his car. He immediately took his car off the road and watched as the thing seemed to perch on the telephone wires. Another car came and seemed to just suddenly stop functioning
this was surmise by the engineer due to the suddenness of the stop. He immediately floored his accelerator and left the scene. Police went looking for the other car unsuccessfully.Nothing happened again for a week. NICAP came back on the 27th to lead a well-attended town meeting on the subject. The only known result of this was the setting up of a three part series on UFOs for the local newspaper.That's part one, folks. When there comes a time for a child to be born, there are several children that are sensitives & those that are sensitives get chosen. We who are sensitive to evil or good can "see" what normal people can't. ESP as many scientists believe to be "paranormal" or "supernatural" but you have to see it in the eyes of us who have been taught that "everything" is possible & it is all limitless. So basically we see things & we let our elders know, now when children cry it's either because something was bothering them or they sense something bad. Easy, when a child is laughing or is smiling while no one is in the room. It "could" be a good spirit playing with them, or it "could" be a bad spirit playing with them. It's hard to tell because there is nothing "evil" in the beginning. It's all trickery to us because they can't harm the innocent. I was one of these children who was a sensitive & I was given the name, Hashke Ta Deezwood, which translates to "One who walks around with warriors" or "One who is always honest with those he encounters". Now, with me, my grandmother raised me to be a good kid. Never into the going out at night or opening a window at night or whistling at night. No-No for a child because that's what calls the bad spirits over to you. So I did nothing but listen to her stories of all these things. My father came into the picture when I was like 5 or 6 & he just visited time to time. Now when I turned 8, I was allowed to go with him to his place. He then started my "training" as I call it. I was hunting & gathering things with him. I thought it was fun because I was hanging out with my father. Now when I turned 9 it began, I was the youngest of the group of kids chosen by his "elders" to partake in this event. I was a sensitive & still am, so they performed a 3 day ceremony in which they had a huge bon fire going & they were dancing around it. They had their skins & animals skins, when I say skins I mean human skins as well. There were people getting butchered & mutilated in these camps in the caves on top of the mountains near my hometown. I vividly remember watching a man get slaughtered & I can remember his screams of agony. This is what haunts me to this day, I tell people all the time, "Dude, you have NO idea what it's like to go through hell or have to hear screams from it or even watch it". We the children have to sit in front of a mirror, this mirror is like a portal to another deep dark dimension & it remains dark until the ceremony is almost complete. It reflects our image but in a ghastly way. Now the chants & songs are being made while people around are getting slaughtered & we have to fast without food or water for the whole three days, while in front of these huge bon fires while watching our own image in a dark mirror. Once the three days are over & there are some of us who survive, keep in mind that they choose up to 15 kids & only three of us make it out alive. I'm the youngest of all of them. Now the 4th day we have to go around talking to animals in THEIR language & we HAVE to understand them. We have to play with some & then challenge some, all while being observed by skinwalkers that are already initiated. If we pass with their approval, we get to do one more thing. Eat, but in order to do so we have to kill either an animal or a human. Then we eat whichever we kill. I killed a prairie dog because I couldn't even stand the thought of eating a person. Eating an animal will most likely result in us being able to obtain "white" or "clear" eyes UNLESS you eat snakes or coyotes. We on the other hand know enough that there are always going to be things that we can't explain but we will describe it. We won't be afraid of it because if it's in our world, then it must be in others as well. Meaning it was ALWAYS there to begin with so it's nothing new to the universe but it is to us therefore it is NOT supernatural or paranormal. Same goes for spirits/aliens/ufos, they're just crossing over, no big deal. Now Mother Earth provides us chosen with massive amounts of energy which we can keep forever. We have the power to manipulate & control certain things. I for one can control the weather with my emotions & I can befriend any wild animal & I can also manipulate peoples thought process. I was chosen with clear eyes, & I was given an bald eagle feather. See, most don't know this but you don't need the full skin to transform, you just need a piece of a part of the animal. I transformed for the first time, it took me 12 hours to master the art. I had to let go of all the limits I was taught, see I was taught that I could only go so far before there would be no limits like they teach nowadays but you have to let it ALL go in order to realize the beauty of shifting. Once shifted, you can fly as high as YOU see fit. It was great, being 9 & flying over Shiprock at high speeds. Having pure sight of everything was the best. Then I did something stupid. I transformed back while I was trying to land, I landed on my face.... HARD. I stumbled a bit & I couldn't remember anything for awhile but then I caught my thoughts & I knew what I had done. I was proud of myself. I was greeted back at the caves with joy & food/water. I enjoyed every meal afterward because I was hungry. The other kids had turned too. One transformed into a snake & the other was cougar. We were happy until it came time to face the mirrors. I got in front of my mirror, stared into my own eyes & saw a great glory. Clear eyes. The Mirror then finally became "wavy" as if it was part of the water & something had hit it to make it start to wave. In the mirror was a mountain of flames & towering over those flames was a dark winged creature that had a long jaw & what looked like ram horns. It stared at me & it called me it's son, but it said my purpose was to help those in need & to fight for the better good. Therefore it rejected me & said that I was no longer it's son & it was gonna protect me from harm but it would have nothing to do with me. The mirror cracked & the pieces fell, the other kids didn't have the same experience. Their mirrors were returned to normal so I guess I was the one that the mirror decided to show me this image. After all this, my dad took me back to his house & we slept with the doors open. I didn't care, I was practically invincible & had this thought that I could do whatever I wanted & I was fully protected but I snapped, this orb of light came into the house & I stood up. I wasn't scared & this orb flew into me, it tickled & I started to glow as if I was a glow stick. I walked outside & I saw a face form out of dust in front of me. It was a man, he spoke to me saying that he was the Creator & that what had happened was for the best & that I was to be honored to protect the people when I transformed. I was excited & I didn't want to believe it was the Creator speaking to me so the orb left. I went to sleep. Next day, I got back home to my mothers' & I told her everything. She freaked out & took me to a medicine man fast. I got all the ceremonies done to reverse it all but I feel that it's stuck with me & that I can still transform. I haven't tried it but if you knew what it felt like, your body thirsts to do it again. So on occasion I clear the clouds & I make sure no animals harm people.
