SOBEPS (Belgian Society for the Study of Space Phenomena) is a non-profit organization, published in the Annex to the "Moniteur Belge", dated May 20th 1971. The organization's purpose is to rationally study unidentified flying objects (UFOs) and issues related thereto. Based solely on volunteering, our endeavour includes investigations of witness testimonies, and an unprejudiced dissipation of the gathered information. Among its membership, SOBEPS counts specialists from universitarian, scientific, educational, financial and media sources.
SOBEPS wishes to contribute to the objective study of the UFO phenomenon, excluding any confessional, philosophical or political choices or "a priori" hypotheses. Our research approach is scientific and based on collecting and analyzing the best possible facts that are trustworthy, and on the constant monitoring of gathered results. In order to achieve this, we have put in place and coordinate the following activities:
* amass information on the UFO phenomenon through witnesses and other instances implicated in the event;
* performance of in-the-field investigations;
* verification of information, criticizing it according to the scientific method and the definition of observational analytical criteria;
* organization of detection and measurement activities of the physical criteria of the phenomenon;
* analysis of thus gathered information in collaboration with specialized labs;
* diffusion of gathered information and research results out to the public as well as to officially responsible circles (political, military and scientific authorities);
* organization of national and international meetings on the UFO problem in order to promote the objective and efficient research on the subject.
Since its foundation in 1971, SOBEPS has always advocated a scientific approach of the UFO problem. During these past years, it has progressively reinforced the rigor of its enterprise, particularly since the famous UFO-wave over Belgium (Autumn 1989-Spring 1991).
Indeed, confronted with such an overwhelming amount of information, SOBEPS has felt the need for a prudent study that is in-the-field and devoid of preconceived ideas, and for the use of scientific instruments in order to gather objective and analytical data that go deeper than human testimonies.
Simultaneously, this wave of 1989-91 - closely observed aerial phenomena that had all the characteristics of objects moving at low altitude over populated areas - has inclined SOBEPS to regard information by neutral citizens as an essential foundation of democracy. In short, SOBEPS considers it its duty to unite and divulge the most objective knowledge on the UFO phenomenon.
Thanks to its acquired notoriety, SOBEPS has made itself heard within multiple official bodies, and has rendered more credible the scientific study of the UFO phenomenon. Within the framework of an agreeing protocol between Federal Police and SOBEPS, all testimonies of unidentified aerial phenomena are immediately transmitted by fax to the SOBEPS headquarter. A standard questionnaire is provided for this. Other particular disposals are provided for those significant cases that may need special requirements.
The wave has also allowed collaboration with the Belgian Air Force. The Air Force has weighed on a number of issues:
* "Operation Identification" with the help of the national Ministers of Defence, Communication and Domestic Affairs: the organization of four nights of observation at a national level, with the assistance of the Federal Police and logistics from the Air Force, with two military air planes for reconnaissance and the use of civilian airport centers at Bierset;
* the publication of a preliminary report redacted by the military after unidentified radar echoes were recorded while UFOs were being noticed, in the night of March 30 and 31, 1990 (Walloon Brabant);
* the collaboration of SOBEPS in the analysis of the (radar-)video studied at the Center of Electronic Warfare of the Belgian Air Force.
Also, SOBEPS has enjoyed the help of several experts. This was the case for the analysis of a photographic document, in the lab of the Chair of Electricity at the Royal Military Academy (Brussels), as well as in the photographic department of the 'Institut Royal du Patrimoine Artistique' (IRPA). This collaboration with scientific organizations is continuing, as SOBEPS is surrounded by a certain number of scientific advisors who are collaborating practically in the development and control of its activities. Among the most active are:
* Auguste MEESSEN, professor emeritus at the Catholic University of Louvain, theoretical and quantum physicist.
* L'eon BRENIG, operating chief at the Free University of Brussels, theoretical physicist (former assistant to Professor Ilya Prigogine).
* Claude GILLET, professor at the Universitarian Faculties of Namur, vegetal biologist.
* Jean-Pierre AUQUIERE, Catholic University of Louvain, medicinal and pharmaceutical botanist.
* Michel BOUGARD, University of Mons-Hainaut, chemistry and history of science.
Since January 1972, SOBEPS publishes the magazine "Inforespace ("next issue # 111 to appear in December 2005). It has several other publications listed, with two main reports (500 pages each) on the Belgian wave of 1989-91: "Vague d'OVNI sur la Belgique. Vol. 1. The former asks for congressional hearings about "this subject" (communications with ET) while the latter requests the release of documents about "this phenomenon" (an extraterrestrial presence). Thousands of people signed on to the assumptions that extraterrestrial beings have been secretly talking to our government or somehow are involved with the whole human race. Try thinking about these bizarre and murky statements from the perspective of a scientifically-oriented government official. How is he to make sense of such absurd requests?"Neither petition had anything to do with the subject of UFOs, as properly defined;" no request for data on UFOs was included. And, chances are, Larson knows very little, if anything, about the evidence for UFOs. Like most government scientists, he likely dismissed the subject long ago as baseless and therefore irrelevant to space policy, and has never looked into it. In all this time this blog has not directly addressed the 1995 Tolentino case from Puerto Rico which Benjamin Radford states was the actual beginning of the Chupacabras craze. Just what could a creature standing upright, the size of a small human, with its back covered in quills like a porcupine be?
The answer is, absurd though it may sound, A PORCUPINE.
No, I am not being funny.
Ivan Sanderson notes in his book on "Abominable Snowmen: Legend come to Life", that porcupines can stand up on their hind feet and even shuffle along like little bears, leaving tracks like little bear tracks as they do so. And this is not hard to imagine because they are structurally much the same as beavers and squirrels when you take the quills off them. And they grow to about the same size as a beaver, about three to four feet long. So they are also in the right size range to be considered a Chupacabras candidate.
A porcupine has little clawed hands and feet just like the Chupacabras sketch. The porcupine has a large round head with the size of it exaggerated because of the quills. The snout of the porcupine sticks out of the round head that a porcupine has in the same manner as is shown on thr Chupacabras sketch. And the Chupacabras sketch shows the fore and hind feet of a quadrupedal animal rather than what a habitual biped would have, being held the same way a porcupine holds its limbs when standing on its hind legs. This is somewhat clearer on the slimmer South American species of porcupine labelled Greenscreen Animals below. I apologise for using this one, but it was the only way I could get the right photo.
Upon closer examination we find more corroborating evidence. Porcupines have a red eyeglow and in some species the eyes are circled with a reddish-coloured skin patch. The eyes of a Chupacabras are also commonly represented as black and beady. The short snout has a mammalian "wet" nose on it and a prominently cleft upperlip. Protruding out of the upper lip is a pair of gnawing rodent incisors, although the artists can show some confusion about the shape of the lower incisors. Whiskers are sometimes shown on the sides of the snout, and to top it all off, ears are sometimes shown at the back of the head as the right size and shape to be porcupine ears (Although the ears are more usually said to be not apparent to the witnesses)
It also seems the original sketch is a little misleading in that the area with quills on the back has them being shown spread too thinly, and as a result the body looks too emaciated. However, the bottom as shown is actually quite thick in proportions. Filling in the area indicated for quills with a thicker bunch of quills copletely alters the body profile.
I did a search on Yahoo using both "Porcupine" and "Puerto Rico" and found that the most likely suspect was the Mexican hairy porcupine, some specimens of which have been introduced on the island as well as on Cuba, it seems.This photo is the result of the search using both of those criteria.
This species not only has the red skin patch around the eye, the body has a general greenish cast to it (The quills are sometimes said to be irridescent and show as different shifting colours to the observer)
As another contrast between this type and the more usual "Chupa" seen elsewhere, here is a reconstruction of the more widespread reptillian type as done by "Cryptisaurus" on Deviant Art:
Benjamin Radford offered his "Solution" to then a book he wrote earlier this year in which he says the solution to the 1995 Puerto Rico sighting was that the witness was thinking of Natasha Henstridge in the movie "SPECIES", and offering a reward of 250.00 to anyone who could prove him wrong.

Well, first off, Natasha is still obviously built like a human female, stands like a human female, has arms and legs of the usual human proportions and used in the usual human manner, has a waist which givers curves to her figure, and she has breasts. The Chupacabras has short animal legs, no boobs, and a bottom-heavy body. Natasha Henstridge does NOT have a "Gray Alien" head or eyes, and as an alien the eyes are heavily-lidded and not obviously red or black or any other colour. She has more and diffeent kinds of hoses and attachments on her that the Chupacabras does NOT have. In short, there is VIRTUALLY NO RESEMBLANCE from an objective point of view. So if Tolentino thought the creature she saw was anything like Natashia being "Sil", she was confused or being misled by her questioner. Which is quite possible and that questioner should be fully cognizant that the process happens, since he says so himself.
And I am still not asking Benjamin Radford for 250.00-No, that would be too small a price to pay after being so misleading on the subject. I would ask for 25000.00 and that the book be withdrawn from publication. And of course that if there needs to be any court case arising from this that Mr. Radford pay court costs since he was the one that offerered the reward and initiated all this nonsense in the first place.

How is it that people who have never had anything to do with aliens suddenly start asking questions?
Questions such as "Are we prepared to accept them as our friends or maybe even as our saviors?"
For many, the situation with regard to aliens is extremely confusing. It is anyway too hard to imagine that intelligent life forms may exist on countless other planets.
Nowadays, if you notice a UFO, the big question is whether you're seeing a man-made object or a vehicle piloted by aliens.
Then you come back to the warning issued by Wernher von Braun, shortly before his death, that the man-made ultimate threat to humanity would come from space and that this threat will ultimately unite the world in the New World Order.
About three years before his death he came into contact with Dr. Carol Rosin and he told her that to justify the huge cost for the space weapons, the secret space fleet and to promote the agenda of the New World Order an artificial enemy would be created.
At first the terrorists, than it would be Russia and now again the terrorists and ISIS and finally, the last card: A threat from space. This is nothing new, but people who have never had anything to do with aliens are now suddenly become aware of it.
As Michael Snyder of The Economic Collapse Blog and The End of the American Dream who writes about all sorts of things, primarily economic, but certainly not about aliens, until now.
In a recent article Michael says, "anywhere in the world you see articles appear that British scientists have suggested that life on earth could ever come from other planets and in the past, our planet has been in contact with extraterrestrials and that this is about to happen again." Furthermore, he asks whether we are prepared to accept that life here on earth originally came from other planets and if Jesus was extraterrestrial.
For Michael Snyder, this is still all a bit of a shock and it is clear when you read his article, actually he not really believe it and prefer to stick to the things that are told in school and church.
He writes the following on his website:
"With each passing year, more people than ever are looking to the stars for the answers to the most important questions that we face."
"Thanks to a relentless bombardment from books, video games, movies and television shows, there are now hundreds of millions of people all around the globe that are anticipating that alien lifeforms could make contact with us at any moment. "
"So are we being prepared to believe that extraterrestrials seeded life on this planet? "
"Are we being prepared to accept them as our friends or even potentially as our "saviors"."
Reasonable people, like attorney Michael Snyder who normally move in the financial world, are already so conditioned by all the news that they would find it not quite strange as tomorrow the government announces that aliens are real, they are our saviors and will help us to unify the world.
When something like that happens, the big question remains whether we are dealing with a real alien intervention or a fake alien invasion as Carol Rosin describes in the video below.
As the world is more unstable by the day and one crisis is not yet solved or the next presents itself again, the timing couldn't be better. (Translated)

Another e-mail, with photos, of orbs and Bigfoot, comes my way...I received an e-mail yesterday from someone who shared their photos with me, and gave me permission to post them on my blog. (This is not the same person as here.)This person wants his/her identity and location kept private. As far as the location goes, it's somewhere in the south eastern United States. (Which by the way, is the same part of the country the previous person who contacted me is from, though a different state.)ORBSI'll call this person "Pat" -- this is what "Pat" wrote about the land he/she lives on:I "found out" this year, that I don't have a "haunted farm" as I had thought.. it is merely Bigfoot living here.... and a lot of orbs, day and night ones. The orbs often accompany what Pat believes to be a Bigfoot, or even a "family" of Bigfoot:These come complete with "Bigfoot sounds" as accompaniment, when they are around.Bigfoot researchers have been out to the property. Some of the things witnessed by Pat: tree knocking, responding back and forth with knocking, the orbs, footprints, and some telepathic communication, but Pat didn't share specific details.BIGFOOTLike a few others that I've known who've encountered Sasquatch or Bigfoot or "Big Hairy Monsters," Pat doesn't like to call Bigfoot "Bigfoot," preferring to call them family. The orb I saw appeared to be a solid craft or machine of some kind, lit from within. And there was no Bigfoot phenomena associated with it. A different "animal" altogether. Sali Sheppard-Wolford, who wrote of her encounters with a Sasquatch in the Pacific Northwest in Valley of the Skookum, mentions orange orbs that appear to have a connection with Bigfoot. Author Lisa Shiel of course is all about orbs and Bigfoot. Beyond that, I can't say why it is, but my own research proves that there is a relationship with these anomalous events.

The most incredible compilation of NASA UFO footage and pictures put together by anyone. If anyone who reads this has any doubt about the existence of UFOs than you must watch this video. Seeing is believing. I do not believe that NASA is doctoring in UFOs on their video's and photo's. These unidentified flying objects are the real thing. There are literally tens if not hundreds of thousands of UFOs in OUR SOLAR SYSTEM at all times. It's hard to believe if you blind but if your not, ask yourself; can I finally allow myself to believe? There is no disputing or debunking what you are about to see. Remember, all of this was fimled by NASA.
Why would an astronaut make stories about UFO's and extraterrestrials. That makes no sense what so ever. If your not a believer then you my friend, desperately need to wake up and smell the coffee. Unless of-course you could careless about the origin of everything as we know it.
The History books are and will be completely rewritten which I believe to be one of the main reasons why this whole topic is kept a secrete. Think about it, religious books (such as the Bible or the Qur'an) are considered real history to people who believe in them. The government does not want to expose the fact that everything we know as and everything we've been taught is wrong. If it wasn't such a big deal, then there would be no need for a cover up. Disclosure is coming, but when?

They might have been chinese lanterns but the flight path was a little strange for something like that. My girlfriend called me whilew she was driving home and told me to look up because there was 2 orange lights in the sky. I got excited and went out back to look but I couldnt see them. She tried to tell me where to look but it wasnt working. I couldnt find them. She was only a few blocks away so I ran out fron so she could pick me up and I could see them. She had already taken a few pictures on her phone and so were alot of other people who were driving next to her. After she picked me up she turned 1 corner and BAM! lights in the sky right in front of me. The 2 lower ones were hovereing and kind of moving side to side next to each other while the rest of them were motionless. 1 of them descended to almost to the horizon and then ascended again. We stopped a couple blocks after she picked me up to get a few more pictures. At this time several people were in there fron yards looking at the lights. 1 lady asked what they werew and I said they look like Ufos. and she said thats what she was thinking. We drove in there direction to get a better look and then another one appeared a little lower than them. After a few blocks they started dissapearing so we stopped to look again. At this time there was only 1 left and it kind of drifted up and dissapeared. The kinda looked like they were drifitin like baloons or lanterns at this point. But when I first saw them they were in a formation and not moving except for the 2 lowere ones. The light was flickerin like fire which made me think of the chinese lanterns. So I dont koow what we saw but it was really neat!

Time: Evening.
My boyfriend and I were driving home from Clarion (the "town") in Clarion county when we spotted a weird object in the sky on our way towards Knox.
It looked like a super bright ball of light with a bar on each side of more white lights. We were both starting at it through the front windshield debating what we were seeing when it suddenly jumped (vanished in clouds and in the blink of an eye was way further away).
Both of us looked at each other and asked, "did/do you see that?" Of course the usual talk followed after we agreed we both were seeing it and were glad we were both seeing it.
We watched it hover and slowly cruise until planes/jets showed up and were approaching it from all around.
The object jumped way ahead of them and they all have chase. We chased it from the ground trying to figure out what we were seeing.
The object jumped at least 3 more times while we were watching and we actually managed to watch it the whole way to my parent's home until it shot of into the sky.
When we got to my parent's, my mom, brother and sister admired they saw it also (the house has a huge bay window they could see it out of plus they were outside a few times doing outside chores such as feeding horses).
We have actually seen the object at least 4 more times since then and it'd only been about a week or 2 since we seen it the first time.
We actually saw it again tonight. It looked like it for down through the trees by the Allegheny river tonight. Kind of scary, but awe inspiring while also raising the curiosity for what we are seeing.

Full Description of event/sighting: We looked out window and saw a really bright static light directly above Craiglockhart Hill. Looking through binoculars it looked a triangular shape of circles. We watched it for several minutes then it shot east briefly and disappeared. We see lots of planes from where we are but this was definitely not an airplane

UFO SIGHTING IN GARBERVILLE, CALIFORNIA ON MARCH 13TH 1997 - DRIVING SOUTH TO SEE SOME SCENERY ALONG US 101, I ROUNDED A CURVE AND NOTICED A DISC SHAPED AIRCRAFT MOVING ALONG THE RIDGE TO THE SOUTHEAST. THE CRAFT CAME CLOSER AND HOVERED ABOUT 100 YDS. AWAY.
I needed some fresh air and wanted to investigate the new enviroment of Eureka California. My friend and I had moved there in October 1996, and I had been told the river near Garbrville was a good destination to start. I was driving 50 mph taking in the scenery and as I rounded a curve I noticed a disc shaped craft near the ridge line across the river.Possibly a half mile away, I watched it move north slowly and then it headed slightly towards me. It was not noticeable because I was traveling straight south and then into another s-curve. Then as I came out of that curve I looked and it was directly east of me and much closer.I was concerned because there wasn't alot of traffic.When a car passed going north I tried to make eye contact and the man and women but they did not look in my direction. I watched the craft another 10 -15 seconds and then it vanished from sight. I arrived into Garberville 5-7 minutes later and had a cup of tea. I wasn't sure what to do and hoped nothing happened to anyone,the news paper did not have any reports until a few days later when a small group reported a similar sighting.The first and second views were at an excellent angles. The first at a 45 degrees, the sunlight was just over the ridge and the lighting was picture perfect. The second was equally good, because the craft was just slightly north and east so the reflection off of the craft showed a main body as having a shiny surface rotating clockwise. The dome shape on top was reflective and white silver a touch lighter in color than the main body and not rotating.

I was driving home little after 7pm and saw a group of people taking pictures of the sky, I looked up and saw what looked like a what a typical UFO looks like shape wise. I pulled over and it was apparent it was definitely not a plane or chopper and not man made. then the 1 light turned to 3 possibly 4 distinct lights and was dropping small lights or orb like things that vanished or disintegrated shortly after leaving the craft. It was slow and steady no blinking or speed change. the lights all went out several times and came back on. I took pics with the iphone and at 1st they look like a ball of light but when zoomed clearly shows 3 separate lights. Should've tracked down the other people that saw it!
